More Changes on Horizon for the Microcomputer Industry
Article Abstract:
A Creative Strategies International report states that IBM will be the force behind structural change in the microcomputer market. By 1986 IBM may have fifty percent of the market and will equally share the high-end micro market with Apple. Smaller companies will be able to establish secure positions by finding markets too small for IBM. Increasing market barriers mean that firms must have extensive resources to survive. While the business market will reach the saturation point by 1988, the home market will still be far below its limit. IBM will move into this market as well as into mid-range business software.

Smaller Size Plotter Getting Lower in Cost but More Functional
Article Abstract:
There is an increase in demand for small size plotters. They are expected to grow 171 percent in units sold. This growth is attributed to increased use by personal computer users, decreasing costs, availability of software packages and the development of micro-containing systems. Plotters are being used for scientific and technical work, manufacturing processing, information retrieval and the output of office work. Charts illustrate the growth of plotters.
