Reinforced development propels Matsushita's digital copier plans

Matsushita Graphic Communication System Inc, a Japan-based manufacturer of digital copiers, will focus on element technology development and device development over the next couple of years. Currently though, the company is bolstering its development and marketing programs through a close collaboration with Matsushita's document technology development center. The company is also planning to improve its overseas production operations, especially in the Philippines where it intends to manufacture digital copiers beginning in 1999.

Product of merger, Panasonic GCS plans digital lineup of copiers
Article Abstract:
Matsushita Graphic Communication Systems Inc, which was formed through the merger of Matsushita Electric Industrial Company Ltd's Office Equipment Division and Matsushita Graphic Communications Systems Ltd, intends to offer a full line of digital copiers. In Aug 1998, the company launched in the US and Japan its FP-D350 digital model and it will introduce the 45cpm, 60cpm and 25cpm digital models later in FY 1998.
