Article Abstract:
John J. Connell, head of the Office Technology Research Group, is a noted expert in the area of office automation. In an interview Connell discusses the management of information technology and the vendors' role in facilitating and the vendors' role in facilitating needs. He believes that users will have a significant effect on systems development in the future, assumining responsibility for much of the programming now done by MIS departments. He cites examples to support his theories are cited. Photographs of Connell are included. This is the second and final segment of the interview.

The 1984 Federal Office Automation Conference will be held November 6-8 in Washington, D.C. The program has been developed by two groups: the Office Automation Council and the Industry Committee.
