Samsung's reorganization frees OA group to focus on digital themes

Samsung Electronics Company Ltd of South Korea has placed its office automation (OA) group under its Information and Home Appliance group in a bid to more efficiently focus on emerging digital technologies. The move, accomplished in Jan 1999, is part of the company's reorganization in order to adapt to a changing market. Samsung's OA business is under the leadership of Chung-Jeon Lee, VP and GM of the Information and Home Aplliance Business' Print Division.

Panasonic, Nintendo zero in on digital home network

Nintendo Company Ltd and Matsushita Electric Industrial Company Ltd's(Panasonic) business and development cooperation deal calls for them to develop a DVD platform for a broad range of digital home electronics and networks. In addition to the development and supply of DVD drives for game equipment, the deal also calls for Panasonic to design other game systems that incorporate various digital video-audio technologies.
