Tiwan' information technology industry rolls on despite falling prices, Asian Economic Flu

Taiwan's information technology industry is the country's largest at $21 bil per year. Industry analysts project a 30% growth from 1997 to 1998 shipments. Complete output values for 1998 are expected to post increases of 28.4% in value and 50.6% in shipment volume. The country posted a 13.3% increase in output for the 1st half of 1998. Among the products included in this projected output increase are desktop computers, notebook computers, CD-ROM players and motherboards.
