J. Crew to introduce children's clothing line

J Crew Group Inc will launch a new clothing line called J Crew Kids to its apparel mix in spring 2001. Aimed at children ages six to 12, the clothing will debut at the retailer's stores as well as on its Web site in March. It will also appear in a special insert that will be part of the fall J Crew catalog to be mailed in July. The J Crew kids line includes 61 boys' pieces and 73 girls' pieces with prices ranging from $12.50 for a basic T- shirt to $38 for dresses and boys' zip-off pants.

Cleaner look boosts order size for BTB cataloger NES Clothing
Article Abstract:
Mail-order retailer NES Clothing registered higher average sales orders after revamping its 2001 business-to-business catalog. Steven Valeri, VP for marketing at NES Clothing, said average order sales rose to $350 after the catalog featured a new layout. There are more clothing collections in the first third part of the catalog to make it easier for customers to look for a particular item. Each page also has its own heading and subheadings for the various clothing styles.

New York, NY-based J. Crew Group Inc., which is a clothing retailer, will introduce a new line of children's clothing through its direct mail catalog. The fall-issue catalog, which includes a 24-page insert on children's clothing, will have a one million piece run.
