Exorcising construction
Article Abstract:
The UK government hopes that the Construction Act will play a key role in abolishing the abuse of contracts in the construction industry. In most cases, it is small contractors that are most damaged by the exploitation of legal loopholes by larger construction firms. Those who place contracts are likely to find in future that it will be much harder to find ways of forcing small companies to accept contracts that are adversarial in tone and likely to be damaging.
