Amazon.com goes for the hammer
Article Abstract:
Amazon.com Inc. will expand the categories of products its offers to customers with the recent debut of its online auction site. According to Amazon.com spokesman Bill Curry, the auction site will enable the buying and selling of products in over 800 categories because sellers will have their auctions cross-merchandised on the company's millions of book, CD and video product pages. Seattle, WA-based Amazon.com said it will promote the auctions by giving gift certificates to all first-time winning bidders.
