net.Genesis targets e-businesses with most valuable customers

Electronic-commerce technology and services company net.Genesis Inc of Cambridge, MA has launched its Most Valuable Customer program. The new service allows businesses to see which visitors to an e-commerce site generate the most revenue. Under the program, businesses will provide net.Genesis with a part of the Web data of roughly 100,000 site visits which the company will break down into five sets of 20,000 from the best to the worst customers. The $5,000 service also enable businesses to preview its $12,000 net.Analysis visitor tracking software.

Gator.com takes a bite out of filling in those online registration forms

Startup online firm Gator.com Corp of San Mateo, CA, will introduce a virtual "smart companion" that helps users to fill out online order forms. The free software called Gator is loaded directly onto users' computers and operates with the help of a database of 10,000 online registration forms from different Internet shopping sites. The software is designed to pull out the user's personal information when the user comes to a new checkout or registration page on the Net, updates Gator.com's central server with the form's specifics after the user fills in the fields.
