Gemstar-TV Guide to buy SkyMall
Article Abstract:
Gemstar-TV Guide International will purchase Phoenix, AZ-based SkyMall Inc, under an agreement wherein Gemstar will buy all of SkyMall common stock. Shareholders will receive consideration of $3 a share, which comprises $1.50 in cash and 0.038 shares of Gemstar-TV Guide common stock, for every share of SkyMall common stock. SkyMall Chmn and CEO Robert Worsely will remain in his position after the acquisition, which is scheduled to be completed in summer 2001.

Delia's Corp has sold its TheS-park.com subsidiary to Barnes & Noble for an undisclosed sum. The sale includes TheNotes.com, which offers online study guides, and the Spark.com, which is geared toward college-age users. Delia's is a multichannel retailer selling apparel and accessories to teen-age girls and young women. The sale will allow Delia's to streamline operations and focus on its multibranded multichannel retail business.

Specialty catalog confirms planned sale

Specialty Catalog Corp, a niche marketer, announced that the company will be privatize through a sales and merger agreement with a current shareholder. The South Easton, MA-based company is to be sold to Specialty Acquisition Corp, a corporation formed by Shareholder Guy Naggar who ownes a 29% stake in Specialty Catalog. The deal is expcetd to close by summer 2001.
