List firms work to limit downturn

The list industry is working every angle to keep rental income rolling in for their list owners. The move is in response to rumors that direct marketers are scaling back prospect mailings due to the uncertain state of the economy and the generally pessimistic outlook of consumers. Though list brokers always seek deals for clients, deals become more critical when rentals are down. An effective way for list managers to give a better deal is quantity commitments.

Edith Roman boosts trade pub files
Article Abstract:
Edith Roman Assoc Inc in late Jan 2001 took over management of 29 Bill Communications trade publication postal files. According to Edith Roman Pres Steve Roberts, the addition of the files into the current Bill Communications Database increased business-to-business names to 2.5 million. On Feb 1, the lists joined the 24 Bill Communications business publications that Edith Roman gained management of in Sep 2000 and six others that followed in October.
