Going to 'batt' for correct installation
Article Abstract:
Code officials approve insulation applications, which include batt insulation installed above suspended ceilings, that do not comply with the prevailing building code in many commercial insulation jobs. Insulators who bid jobs for suspended-ceiling batt insulation with the correct specifications cannot compete against those who bid these jobs with improper specifications. Thus, the ICAA has issued a new technical bulletin called TB 27 on the proper application of batt insulation above suspended ceilings, in response to this misapplication in the marketplace.

Rewarding home builders is illogical
Article Abstract:
The marketing logic of a number of insulation manufacturers has come into question, once more. It appears that some insulation makers are paying home builders to buy their products and exclude the use of other manufacturers' brands in a practice known as 'bundling,' or locked-brand specifications. The home builder receives the benefits of such practices. On the other hand, insulation manufacturers engaged in locked specifications harm all insulation contractors by denying them the right to bid freely.
