The 1993 Best in American Living Award for Best in Region: South Atlantic was given to Rosewalk's Tiffany model. The typical unit has satisfied sales projections and includes two floors with a loft overlooking the living and dining areas. The designers used travertine marble to accent the entry and the fireplace hearth. They also used monochromatic marble details in the living and dining rooms. Kitchen details include high-gloss cabinets, hardwood floors and a utility closet with a recycling center. The first floor includes the master's bedroom and a breakfast nook while two bedrooms are on the second floor.

Southwestern design attracts move-down buyers

The Terra Cotta design of the Saddleback at Stonegate in Scottsdale, AZ, received the 1993 Best in American Living Award for Best in Region: Mountain. The design boasts of a Southwestern motif which has appealed to move-down buyers. The house is compact but its open plan and lofty ceilings make the space appear larger. The arrangement of spaces also provides both privacy for and interaction between its occupants. The foyer serves as the main access to the different parts of the house. The single-story plan includes living and dining areas, two bedrooms and a den which may double as a third bedroom.

The unit contains a living room with a built-in fireplace and openings on two sides leading to a porch. Its dining room opens to a sun deck. Other areas include a den, kitchen, a bedroom and a master suite with its own bath. The unit belongs to a neighborhood development that surround public amenities. The facade evokes the atmosphere of historical coastal resorts and presents an attractive year-round summer residence.
