Industry's Tahoe deal: cleaner 2-strokes OK
Article Abstract:
The boating industry has reached an agreement with the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) regarding new regulations over the use of boats powered by two-stroke marine engines on Lake Tahoe. The TRPA agreed to push back to Oct 1, 2001, some restrictions that were scheduled to take effect on Jun 1, 1999, and to allow the use of two-stroke outboard engines indefinitely. The industry, on the other hand, will drop its lawsuit against the agency and will give it two direct-injection outboards for use in its patrol vessels.
