Ivory towers
Article Abstract:
Feilden Clegg Architects have designed two high density tower blocks to serve as the halls of residence for 651 students at Aston University, Birmingham, England. The bedrooms are located within a nine storey and a 16 storey tower, which each have long blocks of four or seven storeys attached to them. Within each building groups of nine bedrooms, all of which have en suite facilities, are served by a kitchen dining room. Students will be expected to pay 69 pounds sterling, a week, in rent. The buildings have been designed to give every room sunlight at some time during the day.
