Jupiter: Early Spam compliance is weak

Compliance of the CAN-SPAM act initially has been very low by most of the commercial e-mailers as per the results of a research conducted by Jupiter Research. One of the biggest obstacles to compliance was that of honoring unsubscribe requests through suppression tests.

Massachusetts files first state CAN-SPAM suit
Article Abstract:
The Massachusetts attorney general filed the first state lawsuit under the CAN-SPAM Act in the first week of July 2004. It accused a Florida man of sending thousands of fraudulent e-mails marketing cut-rates mortgages.

Can-Spam Act is working, FTC says
