ADVO accelerates its Internet presence

ADVO Inc has created Shopwise.com, an online subsidiary, that is aimed at enhancing its Internet presence and support its growth in the dot-com arena. The new subsidiary will manage all aspects of the shared direct mail giant's Internet ventures. It will also be tasked with the creation of online partnerships that fit in with ADVO's core business strategy. Don McKenzie has been named as ShopWise.com's president.

Loral CyberStar targets Fortune 500 execs with direct mail CD-ROM
Article Abstract:
Loral CyberStar sent 25,000 CD-ROM direct mailers to executives of the US' top companies to promote its new video streaming product called ClearStream Forum. The CD has a link to CyberStar.com, where recipients can ask for more information by filling out a form. The software delivers live, scheduled and on-demand video to desktops through a secure satellite multicast network. It costs $3,500 per site and $30,000 for an unlimited number of sites and desktops.
