Postal Service launches mail quality programs
Article Abstract:
The US Postal Service has began implementing two quality improvement programs in Dec 1999. The Mail Quality Analysis Program is a joint effort between postal service plants, revenue assurance personnel and business mail entry units to gauge the quality of Standard-A and First-Class mail. The Standardized Acceptance and Verification program is aimed at standardizing the requirements used in mail preparation verification.

USPS offers consumers more protection

The US Postal Service (USPS) recently unveiled a new postal policy that will provide customers more protection from illegal postal activities. The policy, which will target private mailbox renters, will impose stricter regulations, such as the need to provide the renting agency with photo identification, to curb the increasing cases of mail theft and mail fraud. The new policy will take effect on Apr 24, 1999.
