Tarmac saved from PSA cut; government to bear brunt of reductions
Article Abstract:
Tarmac PLC which takes over the government-owned PSA Projects in Dec 1992 will have fees earned cut by 15% after Mar 1992. A 2.2 million pounds sterling cut was negotiated for 24 MOD (Ministry of Defence) contracts worth 10.4 million pounds sterling. This results in a 1.7 million pounds sterling reduction in profits; 71% will be absorbed by the government in the period before Mar 1992. PSA has also cut the costs of the 24 MOD contracts by over 500,000 pounds sterling for the period after Mar 1992. Costs to taxpayers will not be increased.

Tilbury Douglas on 80m pounds sterling expansion trail
Article Abstract:
Contractor Tilbury Douglas could invest up to 80 million pounds sterling in expansion, and is considering purchasing as many as four specialist concerns as part of this programme. All the four targets are in the utilities and infrastructure sector, and will allow the company to pursue its aim of becoming an international specialist contractor. It recently announced a substantial rise in profits for 1994.
