AMN touts interactive television tool

AMN Television Marketing will soon embed all of its cable TV spots with interactive television capabilities. The new service to be launched during the first quarter of 2000, will allow viewers to click on an icon appearing at the top of their TV screens to connect to AMN's Web site to view and buy products. Viewers are then directed to the 800Web Mall for purchases and for further cross-selling or upselling opportunities. The toll-free number is then embedded onto any customer orders.

TiVo touts individualized set-top boxes to Guthy-Renker, Disney, NBC, others

TiVo Inc of Dallas, TX, is likely to add direct response television advertising (DRTV) firm Guthy-Renker Corp to its list of companies using the TiVo personalized set-top box. The Los Angeles, CA-based DRTV company has expressed a great interest in the TiVo technology after realizing the benefits it can provide, particulary for promoting Guthy-Renker's programs and infomercial air times.

Respond2 debuts online shopping site
Article Abstract:
Portland, OR-based Respond2 is launching a new direct response television Internet shopping site in Apr 2000. Called Efinds.com, the site is a sort of Internet solution for direct response marketers that will provide a host of classic direct response products from several firms. The sites will continue the storymercial format that was begun by Respond2 CEO Tim O'Leary in the 1990s. The storymercial features updated stories of Ethan Finds and his family that highlight different products.
