Matrix matters
Article Abstract:
Dot matrix printers have changed little since they were first introduced and their sales have fallen steadily since 1992, when they had a 40% share of the UK printer market, to around 3.8% by 1999. However, dot matrix printers continue to be useful, with applications including label and invoice printing and other specialist areas. Dot matrix printers are cheap to buy and to run, although manufacturers make little profit on printers that sell for about 150 pounds sterling.
