Colour basics
Article Abstract:
The market for colour printers is split into three main sectors: office workgroup, professional and personal. The largest sector is personal/entry-level which accounts for most growth in the market. The professional sector covers the high-end of the market and includes users involved in publishing and graphics. The office workgroup sector is relatively new, but is expected to grow as users are given more choice. More than one million non-impact colour printers are expected to be sold in the UK during 1996. The market is led by Hewlett-Packard, with a 62% share.

This little printer
Article Abstract:
Small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) account for some 92% of the UK commercial market and buy 50% of the market's consumables. While larger companies readily adopt new technology, SMEs are beginning to catch up, skipping mono printers and going straight to colour. Manufacturer Hewlett Packard is targeting the SME sector with the launch of its Deskjet 970 Cxi which has a 2,400x1,200 dpi setting.
