Don't be had by financial ads
Article Abstract:
Financial ads which break financial advertising rules are widespread. Ads for the Portman fixed-rate mortgage, Midland Capital Bond, Abbey Life 'tax-free cash' and National Savings 'interest with nothing taken off first for tax' are classed as misleading. Other advice includes: beware of jargon and small print; do not send any money off before asking for more information and checking with regulators; beware of claims and statistics; and finally, look out for what the ads have omitted.

Cause for complaint: the NHS complaints system has been reformed
Article Abstract:
The new NHS complaints system does not operate as it should, according to a survey. Almost half surveyed were disappointed with their medical treatment and six out of 10 were dissatisfied with the way their complaint was handled. There was a lack of vital information at every stage of the complaints procedure, although those undertaking an independent review were fairly positive about the outcome. The procedure is described in detail with a chart.
