No-claims discounts
Article Abstract:
No-claims discounts (NCDs) are offered by car insurance companies for the number of years the policy runs without a claim. The usual maximum discount is 60% over six years free of claims. If a claim is made on the policy, part of the NCD is normally lost. The surest way of keeping a NCD is to pay for any accidental damage without making a claim. Some policies contain NCD protection, but this varies with the insurer. Advice on when, and if, to make a claim and on losses not covered by insurance is presented.
