Out of the frying pan
Article Abstract:
Fifteen non-stick frying pans were tested for endurance, weight and handling. Skandia Black coating, on pans from Sainsbury's and Habitat, failed the tests. Pans should have a flat bottom to conduct heat evenly and produce good results. The Corning Vision pan produced uneven cooking. Non-sticklinings are not dangerous to health if accidentally swallowed or if heated to create fumes. The Prestige Debut was the best buy.

The Sunnex Silvia stainless steel pan, costing 18 pounds was also recommended for rough treatment. Overall, the non-stick pans were preferred; while the cast-iron pans tended to stick and burn.
