Groupware provides many different services for users of computer networks. The main service is electronic messaging, the market for which is dominated by Lotus cc:Mail and Microsoft Mail. Despite its popularity, e-mail's main drawback is the lack of standardisation between the different systems. Other important features include appointment scheduling, conferencing, electronic data interchange, electronic publishing and document image processing.
