Discussion on structural synthesis of south Staffordshire, UK: implications for the Variscan evolution of the Pennine Basin
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the structural synthesis of south Straffordshire in the UK reveals information on the Variscan evolution of the Pennine Basin. The Enville Basin's age is a subject of great controversy since there is no reliable information on its biostratifigraphical zonation. However, the age of the Enville Basin should not be classified within the era of Westphalian D since this uses a lithostratigraphical correlation with the Stephanian A Holzer Konglomerat of the Saar Basin.

Discussion on the trace of the Iapetus suture in Ireland and Britain
Article Abstract:
An analysis describing research on the trace of the Iapetus suture is presented. Earlier research suggests that the Grangegeeth terrane of eastern Ireland is located to the north of the suture. Certain studies show that correlation of the terrane with the Exploits volcanic zone lies to the south of the Luke Arms fault. However, evidence involving benthic faunas, lithostratigraphy and structural data favor the Slane Fault as the ultimate Iapetus suture.
