Fifth International Conference on Southern Hemisphere Meteorology and Oceanography
Article Abstract:
The Fifth International Conference on Southern Hemisphere Meteorology and Oceanography in Pretoria, South Africa offered attendees a venue for discussing issues concerning the impact of weather and climate on developing countries. Many dignitaries graced the event with World Meteorological Organization Sec Gen G. Obasi as one of two special invited speakers. A variety of topics related to the theme were tackled in the oral and poster presentations. Workshops on worldwide problems were also held. The conference ended with announcement of plans for the next conference.
