Article Abstract:
Representatives of the Turkish Cypriot Republic proclaimed on November 15, they are seeking the support of Moslem countries at the Islamic Conference in Bangladesh. Although the Conference approved a statement condemning the secession, the Turkish Cypriots received a supportive welcome. The Greek Prime Minister, Andreas Papandreou, would like North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) action in addition to its statement of solidarity behind the president of Cyprus.

A Fight for India's Skies
Article Abstract:
Two aircraft manufacturers, Boeing Co. Inc. and Airbus, are competing intensely for approximately $4 billion in contracts from Air India and Indian Airlines. Speculations are made on which aircraft may be chosen, the number ordered, and why. The Airbus A 300s and Boeing 757s are the favored contenders for Indian Airlines. Politics may influence the final decision.

Texas politics are currently uncertain. The tradition- breaking Republican wins seem to be ending. The failing economy is a factor. However, the economy seems to be improving. Democratic and Republican chances are reviewed for state and national elections.
