Conflicts between principals and agents: evidence from residential brokerage
Article Abstract:
A study of the residential brokerage reveals that real estate agents are equipped with more knowledge than their clients, which enables them to sell their properties at a higher premium than that of their clients. It also puts the homeowner at a disadvantage for price setting and negotiating. The study also examines the effect of the percentage of commission on agency relationship.
