Corporate investments and growth options
Article Abstract:
Data from a sample of manufacturing companies over the 1989-2000 period are analyzed to determine which corporate investments contribute to growth options values. Findings show that companies capture actual growth option value from joint venture investments and investments in research and development. The importance of studying contingencies that enhance option value is discussed.
