Article Abstract:
A small business credit conditions relating to the loan availability was compared for the period from January 1986 to December 2003. Credit markets remained friendly with little hint that credit standards might be tightened and the outlook for credit markets anticipated some future Fed tightening with the net percent expecting credit conditions to get better at minus 5 percent and there were no signs of financial stress in the small business community.

The small business has so far, obtaining credit at low interest rates without much difficulty, in spite of a weaker economy. The outlook for the credit market has moved lower, with a net minus 5 percent expecting credit conditions to improve.
