Debt restructuring and economic recovery: analysing the Argentine swap
Article Abstract:
The collapse of the sovereign in Argentina in 2001, led to the collapse of the peso and eventually gave rise to dollar debt. For the purpose of restructuring, one feasible solution thought about was 'swapping' decided by super-majority creditors. A study considering an alternative solution in this regard, such as bilateral bargaining approach to manage dollar liabilities, is presented.
