Environmental taxation and employment
Article Abstract:
The influence of environmental tax reform on after-tax wages and labor costs is investigated. Specifically, explicit and implicit taxes which lower real after-tax wages are studied to determine whether they contain the overall tax burden and whether they transfer the tax burden away from labor. The case for environmental taxes that do not target favorable employment effects is discussed together with the likelihood of increasing the overall tax burden associated with pollution taxes aimed at shifting the tax burden from employees to corporations.

'Green money' in the bank: firm responses to environmental financial responsibility rules
Article Abstract:
Financial responsibility rules are being exploited to fill the enforcement gap of liability-based environmental regulation, the rationale being the increasing costs of internalization would create a form of incentive-based regulation. But the underlying weakness of the financial responsibility rules is the lack of supporting legislation for the internalization of externalities which would allow firms to recover costs of compliance.
