Financing mergers and acquisitions: specific Russian characteristics
Article Abstract:
Characteristics of financing mergers and acquisitions in Russian companies are investigated. These characteristics include the assumption of additional obligations by the acquiring company and the accumulation of debt of the acquired company and converting them into shares. There is an inverse relationship between monetary financing and securities financing.

Russian holding groups: new empirical evidence
Article Abstract:
A survey is used to investigate the nature and functions of Russian holding groups. Results indicate that Russian companies joined holding groups after mass privatization, and that decision making in companies is not concentrated in holding groups. Survey results also favor the creation of new companies through these holding groups.
