Insolvency, moral hazard and expense preference behavior: evidence from US savings and loans associations
Article Abstract:
A study has been conducted to determine the role of insolvency in influencing expense preference behavior among US savings and loans associations. Using different statistical variables, it was shown that associations facing insolvency exhibited absolute and relative increases in several spending categories, suggesting that insolvency is a factor affecting managerial discretion with regards to corporate spending.
