Investment cycles
Article Abstract:
A general equilibrium model was utilized to assess the occurrence of economic fluctuations in a capitalistic economy like the US. The model showed that the demand-side effect greatly contributes to the occurrence of periodic investment cycles. It also revealed that elastic economic environment needed to provide investment goods play a significant role in the creation of investment cycles that are as powerful as those occurring in the US economy.
