It pays to be prepared
Article Abstract:
Condition monitoring can save manufacturers money by providing early warning of machine maintenance. It provides information that is not clear by human inspection, predicts safety levels, and uses information from machine sensors for proper maintenance. However, manufacturers should decide on what is required of condition monitoring, and the types and techniques of instruments.

Careful planning reaps rewards
Article Abstract:
Condition monitoring systems can be used to boost the efficiency of manufacturing equipment. Condition monitoring systems record measurable outputs of manufacturing equipment such as temperature, pressure and vibration. Though condition monitoring systems are expensive, costing between $400,000 and $500,000, production efficiencies soon will recover the cost of the system.
