Job tenure in Britain 1975-92
Article Abstract:
The different components of the UK labor market between 1975 and 1992 are examined to determine the factors that affect job tenure. Data from the General Household Survey indicate a cyclical trend in job tenure of women while job tenure of men decreased because of their reduced share of jobs with durations of 5 years or more. Low wages are also found to have direct correlation with job duration. While these findings are considered significant, they are not indicative of the fatal effects of technological and competitive changes on job tenure.

A test of the unitary and collective models of household labour supply
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the unitary and collective models of household labor supply within a structural framework reveals that income pooling restrictions in the unitary model and the symmetry of cross-wage effects may not be applicable. The study supports a hypothesis that states that non-separabilities of goods consumed by parents can be traced to the presence of pre-school children in the family.

Labor supply, commodity demand and marginal tax reform
Article Abstract:
The Ahmad-Stern model defined indirect tax reform through labor market conditions and direct taxation policies. The model generated measures for marginal revenue cost for indirect taxes and direct taxation. The model is applied to the case for a commodity demand-labor market using Ireland. It is shown that labor supply exhibited minimal effect over cost ranking of market products.
