Trade, labour force growth and wages
Article Abstract:
The diffusion of demographic pressure between open economies is examined by determining the impact of relatively rapid labor force growth in one region in terms of wages, employment and production pattern in other trading regions. Through a formal dual trade model, sufficient conditions for a positive theoretical connection between labor force growth in one region and real wage erosion in the other are obtained. These conditions are then analyzed numerically in projected non-OECD labor force growth.

Globalisation and the rise in labour market inequalities
Article Abstract:
An examination of labor market characteristics in developed countries showed that the inconsistencies in wage inequalities cannot be attributed alone to the globalization of the marketplace. This is evidenced by the higher inequality between skilled workers that the inequality exhibited between skilled and unskilled workers. The data indicates that wage inequality is more likely a function of technological change which produces a bias towards different types of skills.
