Long memory in the Portuguese stock market
Article Abstract:
The presence of long memory, or fractional dynamics, in the daily returns of the Portuguese stock market is examined covering the periods before and after the Portuguese Stock Market merged with Euronext. Findings showed that there is evidence of long memory in stock returns and that the country's stock market is more efficient after merging with Euronext.

Stock market liberalizations: financial and macroeconomic implications
Article Abstract:
The implications of stock market liberalization on financial and macroeconomic development are assessed. The evidence that liberalization is associated with increase in real private investment growth and real economic growth is discussed.
