Macroeconomic consequences of outsourcing: an analysis of growth, welfare, and product variety
Article Abstract:
A theoretical framework is presented from which to analyse a firm's incentives to outsource non-core activites, and the consequences of this behaviour for macroeconomic variables such as product variety and growth, within parameters such as management costs, transaction costs and consumer demand for variety. The framework divides production activities into core and non-core activities, and looks at conditions in which outsourcing is socially desirable and in which it actually occurs.

International mass migration: a threat to Europe's borders and stability?
Article Abstract:
The impact of international mass migrations to Western Europe are studied. It is argued that mass migrations currently pose no threat to Western Europe's resources or stability. Nonetheless, governments must begin to develop policies involving quotas for immigrants and systems for judging applications. These policies should also incorporate humanitarian and socio-economic considerations and must be acceptable to both sending and receiving countries.

The determination and consequences of international liquidity
Article Abstract:
Former International Monetary Fund (IMF) managing director H.J. Witteveen believes that the creation of an International Monetary System can result in better control of international monetary liquidity. This can be done through the setting up of a surveillance system managed by the central banks and the IMF. Said system can minimize or eliminate inflation and enhance the role of Special Drawing Right.
