Mancur Olson - social scientist
Article Abstract:
Economist and social scientist Mancur Lloyd, Jr, died of a heart attack at the age of 66, on Feb 19, 1998. He is remembered as one of the few economists who have given significant contributions to the social sciences field. Among his ideas that became the main tenets of the political science discipline are methodological individualism and rational behavior. His book, entitled 'Logic of Collective Action,' also became a popular reference used by social scientists to understand the problem of collective action.

Georgescu-Roegen is an economist that gained influence through his pioneering works that seeks to remove superstition in economic activities. His career is marked with distinct but gradual changes in his outlook and his works reflect the scope of his education and work experience. His works fall under either consumer theory and linear activity models or under attacks to the shortcomings of mechanistic epistemology underlying neoclassical economics.
