Meeting demand for mass-housing
Article Abstract:
Laguna Properties Holdings, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Ayala Land, has awarded to Tex Industrialized Construction Systems (Tex ICS) a contract worth US$9 mil for some 3000 houses in the Philippines. Building components are to play a role. Tex Holdings, the parent of Tex ICS, in 1985 found out that there was an urgent demand for mass housing in the Philippines. The Tex ICS Verticast On-site Battery Casting System uses purpose-designed steel moulds (batteries) to make concrete elements in a production line.

Keeping the lid on aircon demand
Article Abstract:

Big manufacturers such as Carrier, Daikin, and Mitsubishi need to assist utility companies by sharing their production plans. Power companies further complain that the retail market for package systems is unpredictable. Planners should impose power requirements based on a formula designed by local companies.
