Oman sets its sights on foreign investors
Article Abstract:
Oman's economic policies stress the importance of foreign participation, especially joint venture agreements, in weaning the country from its dependence on oil exports. The need to diversify the economy is contained in both the Omani fifth five-year plan covering 1995 to 2000 and Oman Vision 2020, the Sultan's long-term development plan. One of Oman's efforts at attracting foreign investments includes the establishment of the Omani Centre for Investment Promotion and Export Development.
