Ownership concentration and Russian company development: empirical evidence
Article Abstract:
Majority of Russian companies are controlled by a single owner or a consolidated group of owners. Companies with intermediate ownership concentration levels are more inclined to expand business and improve performance, while those with high concentration levels are more active in investment, restructuring, and maintaining labor productivity.

Hostile takeovers and defenses against them in Russia
Article Abstract:
Operational and preventive methods of defending against hostile takeovers done by Russian companies are studied. Cost-benefit analyses indicate that preventive methods are preferable to operational methods. Russian regulatory legislation should allow companies to defend themselves better against hostile takoevers.
