Although the British government is promoting the building of a broadcast satellite, officials are in search of commercial companies to fund it. No deals have been made. One proposal is a broadcast satellite jointly operated and financed by Britain, Ireland, Spain and Portugal.

Britain's commercial breakfast television station, TV-AM, is in need of money. Management blames a pay dispute between the actor's union, Equity, and IPA, the advertising agencies' club. Actually, the financial problems of the station lie elsewhere.

Just Another Nuclear Bomb
Article Abstract:
The United States nuclear disaster film, 'The Day After,' was shown on British TV in December 1983. It appeared to have had little impact. Public opinion was not altered by the film.
