Pretty vacant: recruitment in low-wage labour markets
Article Abstract:
The methods by which several low-wage firms in the United Kingdom recruit employees for job vacancies are discussed. Almost all vacancies are filled, with monetary and non-monetary rewards being more important than the number of job applicants.

Transitions from school to work and the early labour market experience
Article Abstract:
The early experience of those leaving school and entering the labor is discussed. Duration of employment and unemployment and wages are factors are considered, and it was found that those with better education fare better in the market.
