The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) increased 0.4% in Feb 1995, reaching a level of 150.9 before seasonal adjustment. This represents a rise of 2.9% over the previous 12 months. The CPI for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W) rose 0.3% in Feb, reaching a level of 148.3 without seasonal adjustment. This represents a 3% increase for the previous 12 months. Largest gains were for the 12-month period were medical care, at 4.9 percent. Smallest gains in price were recorded for apparel and upkeep, which fell 1%.

This represents a 2.8% increase for the 12 months ending Jan 1995. The CPI for Urban Wage Earners Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W) rose 0.4 percent in Jan 1995. The CPI-W went to 147.8, representing a 2.9% increase over the previous Jan. Smallest 12-month increases were in housing, 2.4%, and apparel, at -0.8%. Largest gains included medical care, at 4.9%, and transportation, at 4.3%.
