Regional Versus Multilateral Solutions to Transboundary Environmental Problems: Insights from the Southeast Asian haze
Article Abstract:
Regarding environmental problems in developing countries as only regional in scope leads to an unfair cost advantage at the expense of developed countries inspite of the multilateral environmental agreements under the auspices of the World Trade Organization. As the WTO is not an environmental protection agency, this paper proposes the establishment of a new global environmental agency to address these environmental interdependencies.
